ITC Oman

To contribute to the maritime and logistic sector development, STC established its presence in Oman since 2005

After a successful academic support period at the International Maritime College of Oman (IMCO), the short courses were brought into a separate entity. IMCO Training Company (ITC Oman) is a joint venture between STC International and IMCO. ITC Oman plays a major role in Oman and the Gulf region by enhancing skills and creating competencies needed to professionalize and increase the industry labor force in the Maritime, Port, and Logistics sector.

Vision

Supporting and implementing the national/regional diversification program (such as SOLS 2040) is what we stand for. Our vision is to cultivate excellence, learning, and skills enhancement in the logistics, maritime and petrochemical industries and to be the training and consultancy center of the Gulf region. In the above industries, safety and efficiency play a key role in success. A safe work environment creates confidence in the day-to-day operations.

It is our mission to provide high quality training and consultancy that will meet the specialized needs of the maritime, logistics and process industries.

Contribution to the industry

ITC Oman works closely with governmental institutes and the industry to ensure meeting all the requirements of different maritime, logistics and process sectors. ITC Oman is responsible for offering a variety of professional training courses in line with national and international standards.

Professional skills related to the fields of ports, shipping, logistics, oil, gas, and petrochemical industries are offered to meet the growing demand for local expertise. These courses are conducted by specialized instructors and are carried out either at ITC and IMCO campus in Sohar Port (or where possible in-company).

The Maritime training provided by ITC leads to IMO-STCW certification.

Training Facilities and Staff

The training facilities are situated in Sohar Port in Oman. ITC is a modern well equipped training company. With three STCW bridge simulators, engine room simulators, ECDIS, firefighting facilities, a rescue boat and lifesaving exercise pool, a complete range of STCW certification can be provided.

In order to see the full impact of all elements related to the logistic process, ITC has the ability to use a Transport Chain Simulator. This simulator provides knowledge and insights to increase efficiency in the total chain. Modern equipped classrooms are the base for the theoretical components of all courses conducted. Staff of ITC are highly skilled trainers with an extensive experience in the maritime, logistic and industrial sectors.
