On the 15th of October 2021, a delegation of Grulac (Group of Latin America and the Caribbean) Ambassadors visited the Port of Rotterdam.
Ambassadors from Argentina, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela in The Netherlands were present.
Authorities of the Port of Rotterdam invited STC International’s Area Manager Latin America, Mrs. Silvina Pereira Marques, to join the delegation and provide a presentation on education and training for the maritime & offshore, port & terminals and transport & logistics industries.
The main aim of the visit of the ambassadors, of which some recently started at their post in the Netherlands, was to get acquainted with the activities of the Port of Rotterdam and STC International in Latin America and the Caribbean.
During the visit the delegation members and representatives of the Port of Rotterdam and STC spoke about the challenges in Latin American and Carribean and discussed about how The Netherlands can support the countries in facing those challenges.
Various ways of cooperation and follow-up activities were discussed and identified. After the visit, the Ambassadors of Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Venezuela have approached STC International for a follow-up.
