Recently, STC, Saab Group and Monsum have supported two local charity oraganisations, Foundations Tynaarlo West Timor and Cahaya Nusantara, to further develop the water and sanitation infrastructure in West Timor.
As part of this charity project, the Mayor of the municipality of Kupang has officially opened a 14th water well in the village Penkase.
After this official moment the water well and newly developed sanitation facility were handed over to the local community of Penkase.
With this new infrastructure approximately 250 families (ca. 1000 persons) will be able to use clean water and sanitation facilities. This will allow the community to grow own crops and to keep small cattle. Subsequently, this will enable the community to generate extra income.
