Terminal Investment Limited (TIL), a MSC Shipping Line company, approached STC International with the request to assess, train, mentor, examine and certify remote STS operators and manned Shuttle Carrier drivers for their greenfield terminal Hadarom Container Terminal (HCT) in Ashdod, Israel.
STC International successfully submitted a technical and financial proposal showing its experience, training approach and organisation, detailed training programmes (including workflow) and a transparent investment plan.
STC International deployed a team of experienced trainers:
- 4x remote STS crane;
- 2x manned Shuttle Carrier.
Considered to be strong points in the execution of the project is the perseverance and flexibility shown by STC International project management and trainers. Despite the many challenges like COVID and administrative complexity, local civil unrest and the different stages of terminal (system) development, STC International always kept focus on the importance of the training execution for the client.
Outcome
The outcome of the Agreement was 12x remote STS operators and 30x manned Shuttle Carrier drivers; all assessed, trained, examined and certified.
Impact
The implementation of the training programmes has and will have a positive impact on the terminal operating processes. With confidence STC International delivered certified operators and drivers who can safely and effectively operate the heavy equipment.
