STC International and Holland House Colombia (HH) jointly prepared a study upon request of the Regional Business Development team for Latin America. What are the business opportunities related to port digitalization for Dutch companies in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama? Afterwards, in January 2021, the study was extended to business opportunities in Ecuador.
Extensive research by highly experienced consultants
The study focussed on fourteen relevant topics such as the trends in the Netherlands regarding the maritime and logistics sector and structural market changes due to COVID-19 in relation to digitalization. The levels of digitalization vary in the world. What is the effect of the frontrunner positions to embed in the Latin American region? Identifying and interviewing relevant stakeholders (a.o. Ports, terminals, unions, chambers of commerce and academic organizations, embassies) in the Latin American region gave input for further processing.
With conducted desk research, field research, interviews, conclusions and recommendations, eight experts from the HH and STC International came together to combine experience and local knowledge for the outcome.
